The Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education annual Statehouse Visit and Legislative Luncheon for all Ohio Career-Technical Education students:

The purpose of the annual Ohio ACTE Student Legislative luncheon is to provide Ohio’s Legislators and career-technical students the opportunity to interact and gain a mutual understanding of the role of career-technical education and its importance to Ohio’s future economic development and the legislative process.
If you have not attended this special event before, the entire program is conducted by students enrolled in career-technical programs in Ohio. This spotlight provides our legislators a continuous reminder of the many opportunities that career and technical education affords their constituents and Ohio’s future workforce.
The Ohio ACTE Legislative Luncheon provides additional opportunities that include visiting legislators’ offices, and touring the Ohio Statehouse either before or after the Luncheon.
Schools are encouraged to bring eight (8) people per table. State Representatives and Senators will be assigned to each school so you can send personal invitations to the legislator to have lunch with your students.
In order to promote efficiency and be sure that each legislator is hosted by a school, here is how the process works:
• We will assign schools to host legislators based on your response. Keep in mind that you may or may not host the legislator of your choice if more than one school requests a certain legislator. Since tables accommodate 10 people, we have reserved two seats at each table for legislators or their staff representative.
• After we receive your Reservation/Intent Form, we will assign schools to host specific legislators and notify you in separate correspondence.
• The price per table is $375.00 (eight students/staff (8) plus two legislators (2), Representative(s) and/or Senators equals a total of ten per table)

Statehouse Visits
Statehouse tours and legislative office visits must be coordinated separately by each school. Call 614/728-3726 to schedule your Statehouse tour for 10, 10:30 or 1:05 (tours last 45 minutes). Mention you are part of the Ohio ACTE Legislative Luncheon Group. Contact your legislators’ office directly to arrange an office visit.
