BenefitsThe Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education is the leading advocate for career-technical and adult education in the state. If you are an educator and believe in the mission of career-tech education, your support through membership increases our effectiveness with legislators, our communities and students. Ohio ACTE represents more than 5,000 members statewide, including workforce development and supportive program teachers, as well as CTE administrators, School Board members and adult education leaders. As a member, you’ll be an important part of our organization. Your membership will support professional development activities, community and statewide awareness of CTE programs, and advocacy efforts that strengthen Ohio’s career-technical education programs and classes and lead to better outcomes for students. Legislative Representation Ohio ACTE works with legislative counsel to ensure the interests of career-technical education are represented in today's government at both the state and federal levels. Together, we form successful partnerships with government regulators, officials, administrators and others to help them understand the positive impact career-technical education has on students and Ohio's economy. Classroom Tools & Best Practices Throughout the year, Ohio ACTE and its Divisions representing specific areas of CTE host conferences, virtual meetings, share ideas electronically or provide information to members. Opportunities and events are included in the monthly Ohio ACTE Enews emailed to members or on the Ohio ACTE calendar. Connect & Exchange Ideas The Annual All-Ohio ACTE Innovation and Impact Conference, provides opportunities to interact with other educators, businesses and the Ohio Department of Education Office of CTE staff. Attendees can choose from a variety of professional development sessions across a wide range of subjects designed to provide the most relevant and up to date information. Division also offer ongoing opportunities to meet and share ideas. Career-Technical Education News The Ohio ACTE News Blog and monthly emailed electronic newsletter provides Ohio news and information specifically for career-technical educators to keep members current on the latest announcements, events and opportunities across the state. View the News Blog, constantly update here, or read about activities in the monthly Enews, which is emailed to every Ohio ACTE member. Ohio ACTE also hosts a Job Board that allows our Organizational Members to post opportunities available in CTE. Professional Recognition & Leadership Opportunities Ohio ACTE recognizes outstanding members through an awards program designed to showcase dedicated and innovative educators. Members also have the option to take part in leadership activities and shape the future of career-tech through service as a division leader of Ohio ACTE officer/committee chairperson. The Byrl R. Shoemaker CTE Institute provides leadership development for all career-tech educators and supporters. Membership Discounts Members receive discounted registration fees to association meetings and events. Organizational/School members receive even greater discounts and pre-access to many opportunities.
